Our Story

How it all started...

"In 1993 God called me away from my first pastoral assignment in Alabama to Parkway House of Prayer in the Roanoke Valley. Many years later in the fall of 2006, the pastor that succeeded me PHOP called and asked if I would pray about planting a congregation in Salem. In 2007 we left our third pastoral assignment in Indiana and returned to the valley and launched Living Well Church on the first Sunday in October of that year.

The name Living Well came to the core group who helped us plant the church. It came from the verse in John 7:37. "Jesus stood and cried with a loud voice, whoever is thirsty come and drink Living Water, and out of his belly shall flow rivers of Living Water."
Jesus offers a drink for whoever is thirsty- Living Water. After you have drunk, you will live well, rivers of living water flowing from within. Hence the name Living Well Church. Our mission: "Making Christlike Disciples". We seek to be a place where the lost can find Jesus, and the saved can be discipled to reach their world with the gospel."

Where we are headed...

We are currently one congregation meeting in two locations: Salem and SE Roanoke. (Living Well @ Riverdale)
We anticipate another campus within one year. We have seen 138 souls saved and see that number exceeding 200 within two years. We also anticipate being debt free within two years, and to be building our new sanctuary within four years.
